The Women's Center

October, 2018 & October 2019

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We are partnering with The Women's Center this October to bring light to this issue by raising awareness & funds through a Mama D's Cares Day.

On Wednesday,October 10th 10% of our profit from the day, at all three locations,  will go to The Women's Center. Invite your friends to a coffee date at any (or all!) of our Mama D's locations.

October 10 also happens to our monthly open mic night at Mama D's Coffee in Wales. Join us for good music provided by various local musicians. Bring your instrument to share your talent, or simply bring your listening ears & a few friends to enjoy a night filled with community, music, and coffee! Music begins at 6:30.

The Women's Center, located in downtown Waukesha at 505 N East Ave is known for its incredible outreach programs to help members of the community (women, children and men) who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault or abuse, including sex trafficking.

The Women’s Center offers a variety of free and comprehensive services including: emergency shelter, support groups, parenting support, legal advocacy, transitional living, sexual assault and abuse counseling and violence prevention and community education.

Dressember

December 2017

Mama D's Cares Day partners with our baristas' Dressember team 'Fight it with Fashion'

Dressember uses fashion to advocate for people who've been exploited or trapped in trafficking situations. As women and men take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress or bow-tie for the 31 days of December, they are advocating for the inherent dignity of all people.

Fight it with Fashion is made up of four Mama D's baristas Kelsey, Tara, Alex, & Ali. Maybe you've noticed them wearing dresses all month long? There's a reason! By participating in Dressember, advocates partner in the fight to rescue, protect, and restore the lives of trafficking victims across the world. This year, Fight it with Fashion is aiming to raise $2,500 for anti-trafficking grants through the Dressember campaign (money raised goes to IJM, A21, and McMahon Ryan).

On December 20 Mama D's Coffee donated a percentage of sales to the Dressember team Fight it with Fashion.  You can learn more at dressember.org. Consider supporting their team directly at https://dressember.funraise.org/team/fight-it-with-fashion

March of Dimes

May 2017

Join us for a beverage or a meal on May 10, 2017 and 10% of your purchase price will be donated to March of Dimes. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We selected March of Dimes as our recipient for this quarter after a member of our Mama D's Wales community lost their little boy to illness far too young. We will make our donation in memory of Tyson.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Herma Heart Center

June 2016

Baristas.

In Andy's words:

"I chose the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Herma Heart Center for Mama D’s Cares. My mom has been a nurse at Children’s for 35 years, with 25 of them being in the Heart Center. Growing up, I have been able to visit the center countless times and have gotten to know the doctors, nurses and support staff - as well as witness all the hard work they put in each and every day. Additionally, I volunteer annually at the Herma Heart Center picnic which is held for the patients and their families. This opportunity has shown me how much the work that individuals such as my mom do can affect not only a child but their entire family. I know that any donations received for Mama D’s Cares will contribute in some way to the ongoing excellent care provided by the Herma Heart Center. Thank you to everyone for their support!"

The Herma Heart Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is the largest pediatric cardiac center in the state and ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the #5 pediatric cardiology and heart surgery program in the nation. Thank You for your Support!
